Child Care Solutions
Time to call a consultant?
Bobby, age two has bitten three other children. You are wondering if
he should go to a different childcare program. Sherry, age five, cries
at nap time every day. How can you help her? Sam, age three, tantrums
several times a day. What can you do to stop this behavior?
The answer is
. Child Care Solutions
We provide a no cost consultation when a child is struggling with behavioral
or developmental problems in the pre-school/childcare setting. A therapist
will go to the childcare site (with a parental permission) to observe
the child and talk with the director or teacher. After identifying the
problem, strategies will be determined to allow the child to succeed in
childcare.
It is time to call us when:
- Disruptive behavior from a child interferes with the experience of
the other children and staff
- Sadness, fears, or tension interferes with a child's experience in
the childcare program
- Previously well-adjusted child's behavior deteriorates
- Enrollment is a transfer from another program due to the child's struggles
in the previous setting
- The teacher observes a possible delay in a child's development
- The teacher is ready to try a new way of working with a child
This service is available to schools in Contra Costa County through a
