We Care Services for Children, Why Choose Us?

We Care Services for Children is a private, nonprofit agency devoted to serving children from birth to age six and their families in Contra Costa County. Our approach emphasizes the development of the "whole child" by providing a variety of programs in Contra Costa County for special needs and typically developing children.

We believe that early intervention and child development services are critical to ensure that young children are equipped with the skills they will need to start school and be ready to learn.

Preventive early childhood services can improve children's outcomes and by investing now, the need for higher priced care as the child grows will be reduced.

Therapeutic intervention and early childhood education is provided to children in a warm and caring environment while meeting each child's individual needs. Our low child to staff ratio allows individual attention to be given to the children. Having an integrated program of special needs and typically developing children allow the children to learn from one another and promote tolerance of differences.

Parents are included in planning their child's services and goals. We recognize that parents are a child's first teacher, and we believe that a child's progress is best facilitated through collaboration and teamwork. We encourage parents to ask questions, express their concerns and to actively participate in the assessment and goal setting processes for their child. Our staff provides suggestions and activities that can be incorporated into each family's lifestyle to promote development across all environments.

We firmly believe that an educated staff provides the best care for the children and their families. We offer educational incentives and have a training budget allowing staff to attend conferences/ seminars in their fields. The information is then brought back to the agency and presented at an in-house training to the other staff.

Family support includes the assistance of our social worker whenever and wherever needed.

We Care continually reviews the needs of the community, expanding and enhancing programs and services as needed.

We Care is licensed by the State of California and has provided early intervention and child development programs since 1960, serving thousands of children and their families with great success. Our staff consists of professional licensed, pre-licensed therapist, and teachers and associates that specialize (have training and education on infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers) in early childhood development, emotional as well as physical. Our services are flexible and individualized.
